Searching gluten-free food to be made easier

Coeliac UK has teamed up with food tech start-up Foodmaestro to make it easier for people to find gluten-free product information.

The Gluten Free Food Checker, which is exclusive to Coeliac UK’s members, first launched as a mobile app in 2016 and is now being made available through the charity’s online channels, giving members more help in finding the right foods online via the website and through the mobile app.

“Over the past 50 years, our charity has played a crucial role in helping the one in 100 people in the UK who suffer from coeliac disease manage their condition and live a happier life,” said Sarah Sleet, chief executive of Coeliac UK. “We are always looking for new and innovative ways to benefit our members, which is why we’ve decided to extend our partnership with Foodmaestro.

“We hope our members will fully use the updated website alongside the Gluten Free Food Checker app and the other tools we offer to help them shop, cook and eat out gluten free.”

The new online channel can be found at www.coeliac.org.uk/foodinformation/ and the Gluten Free Food Checker app is available on all iOS and Android devices.
