Vadasz Pickles and Ferments launch in Foodservice

Vadasz, the hugely popular pickles and ferments brand is now available through Brakes, the UK’s leading wholesale distributor. Brakes has listed Vadasz Raw Kimchi and Vadasz Raw Garlic & Dill Sauerkraut, both are perfect for chefs looking to elevate dishes with natural and authentic flavours while meeting the growing demand for gut-friendly products.

Naturally fermented, Vadasz products contain live cultures and lactic acid fermentation. The products are made by hand, with as little intervention as possible, at Vadasz’ production site in Clitheroe, Lancashire. This process creates probiotics, which are beneficial to the gut and the immune system.

Both products have secured Great Taste Awards, the premier food and drink accolades, with Vadasz Raw Garlic and Dill Sauerkraut awarded two stars and Vadasz Raw Kimchi awarded one star. The Vadasz Raw Kimchi pots contain a spicy mix of Chinese cabbage, carrots, spring onion, chilli powder, ginger and garlic. While in its Raw Garlic & Dill Sauerkraut, Vadasz enhances the flavours of traditional sauerkraut by adding garlic, dill, black peppercorns and caraway seeds, for extra goodness and a moreish flavour.

Charlie Holland, senior brand manager for Vadasz says: “Vadasz products are not only packed with flavour but they are natural and healthy without any artificial ingredients. As the fermented category continues to grow the versatility of Vadasz Raw Kimchi and Vadasz Raw Garlic & Dill Sauerkraut will provide chefs with a convenient solution to a growing trend and an authentic means to boost flavours and texture.”

Vadasz Raw Kimchi and Raw Garlic and Dill Sauerkraut add bursts of flavour, texture and colour to so many dishes from burgers to stir fries to salads and sandwiches.

While Vadasz ferments are new to Brakes, they have established a large following since their launch in 2019. The brand takes its name from its creator, Nick Vadasz. Known as the Pickles Man, Nick worked as a street food vendor in London and found his pickles and ferments proved popular, not only among his customers, but with his fellow stallholders, who began serving pots of his pickles and ferments alongside their own offerings.

Brakes selected the Raw Kimchi and Raw Garlic and Dill Sauerkraut due to their allergen free credentials and the fact that they are bang on trend when it comes to plant based products, ferments and gut health.

Jo White, Brakes Category Manager Dairy & Delicatessen, says: “At Brakes we’re passionate about the food we sell and about being the chef’s hidden partner, providing them with the products that make running their kitchen that little bit easier. Our team is constantly on the hunt for innovative products that support emerging food trends, so we’re very pleased to be the first foodservice wholesaler stocking these Vadasz products. They will not only help chefs to add flavour and texture to dishes but are also great for those interested in a plant-based diet, for which Brakes has the most extensive range in foodservice.”

Both products are available in 1kg pots and are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
