Searcys pledges £175k for 175th anniversary

Searcys has announced the launch of a £175,000 Charity Pledge for 2022 as part of its 175th anniversary celebrations. As one of the UK’s first British event caterers, 2022 will see Searcys marking the occasion with a full calendar of events, promotions and pop-ups.

The company has launched the Charity Pledge in homage to founder John Searcy, committing to raise a target of £175,000 in donations to nominated charities, including Hotel School and Beyond Food. This will be achieved through fundraising across its venues, alongside donating one workday for each of its team members to take part in activities for their own causes and local communities.

The Charity Pledge is the first in the company’s yearlong celebrations. They will also include the refurbishment of Europe’s longest champagne bar at St Pancras International, which is set to reopen in summer 2022.

Paul Jackson, managing director of Searcys, said: “After what has been a turbulent year, I am incredibly proud to see Searcys go from strength to strength, and would like to thank every member of the team for their hard work and loyalty throughout the year. We look forward to toasting to 175 years with some exciting plans on the horizon.”
