StrEATfood Awards deadline extended

The deadline for entries for the StrEATfood Awards has been extended. Contract catering chefs have until 27th July to enter the culinary cook-off, which will be held at Islington Metal Works on 22nd September.

The fifth annual event will see the 16 chefs – all from B&I and event catering – compete in a series of culinary challenges. They will be tasked with recreating their signature dishes for our panel of expert judges, with the winner taking home the prized Street F|ood Dish of the Year title. They will also compete in a Technical round using products supplied on the day, and a vegetarian Quorn round.

If you want to be among the 16, simply submit your dish at www.streatfoodawards.co.uk. The shortlist will then be selected by our panel of experts.

Adam Collison from Sodexo, who won the Meat-Free Round last year, said: “I’d urge other chefs to enter this competition, just do it. It’s great fun and it’s good to test yourself and get out there to see what other people are doing. There are some amazing ideas here. Every day’s a school day, isn’t it? You never stop learning.”

The 2022 StrEATfood Awards sponsors are Bewley’s, Britvic, Kerrymaid, Major, Tugo and Quorn. If you would like to enter or require more info, go to www.streatfoodawards.co.uk.
