THE INDUSTRY’S BIGGEST EVENT FOR SCHOOL FOOD PROVIDERS RETURNS TO BIRMINGHAM NEXT WEEK!

The LACA Main Event returns to the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on 3rd and 4th July.  The theme for this year’s event is ‘Levelling Up School Food’ and will focus on the fact that providing nutritious meals to children has become increasingly challenging.

The programme and features at the Main Event have been designed to address the disparities in school meals funding across the four UK nations of Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England. 

Industry experts and guest speakers will share their experiences and knowledge, providing you with practical advice and innovative solutions and strategies to overcome the obstacles you are facing.

Running alongside the Main Event is the free-to-attend, LACA School Food Show, with more than 160 exhibitors, it is the ideal place to find solutions to a wide range of requirements from food and beverage products which can help education caterers meet the nutrient guidelines, through to cashless payment and nutrition software solutions, furniture and dining room marketing.

The event also provides the opportunity to network with industry peers, sharing experiences and building connections that can contribute to the success of your school food service.

Other features to look-out for include:

  • The LACA School Chef of the Year (SCOTY) National Final which takes place live on 3rd and 4th July during the event, with the 2024 winner announced at the Awards for Excellence dinner on Thursday evening.
  • The finalists for the LACA Grab & Go Challenge will battle it out live on Wednesday 3rd July cooking their grab & go item in a competition environment to decide the winner who will be announced later that evening.
  • Interactive workshops - Free-to-attend sessions taking place on Wednesday 3rd July with practical, interactive content and 'ask the education experts' – your chance to pose your questions to our panel of school food experts.
  • LACA Live - A series of informative, free-to-attend cookery demonstrations taking place over both days of the event.
  • The Finishing Touches salon culinaire is the chance for school chefs to showcase their skills which would not normally be seen during their everyday profession.  View the entries across 12 classes on Thursday 4th July, the winners will be announced that afternoon.
  • LACA Awards for Excellence dinner on the evening of 4th July, celebrates the individuals and teams who continue to make a real difference in education catering.
