Elior’s Paton wins StrEATfood Awards
Iestyn Paton from Elior won with his Pulled pork sourdough pizza sando.
Iestyn Paton from Elior was the big winner at the 2025 StrEATfood Awards. He took home the title of StrEATfood Dish of the Year at our eighth annual culinary cook-off for his Pulled pork sourdough pizza sando. You can watch our video of the event here.
Paton beat off stiff competition from 15 other contract catering chefs who also cooked up their signature street food dishes for a panel of expert judges that included Steve Munkley from the Craft Guild of Chefs. Shannon Talbot-Bennett from OCS placed a close second with her Next level bunny chow, while Alex King from Wilson Vale finished third with his Cinghiale shin ragu bomboloni.
A clearly delighted Paton told host Christian Stevenson (AKA DJ BBQ) of his shock at coming out on top, having only competed in Elior’s own internal competitions previously. His sando was selected having already been a huge hit across the caterer’s business and industry sites.
StrEATfood Chef of the Year
Talbot-Bennett, meanwhile, won the StrEATfood Chef of the Year award for her Reggae reggae taco, which was made using sponsors’ products. Paul Heritage from Thomas Franks finished in second place, followed by David Ellams from Aramark.
The 2025 StrEATfood Awards was sponsored by Agnes Arbor, Anchor Sandwich Co, Conglom, Lamb Weston, Lucky Buddha, Major and Old J.
Entries are now open for the 2025 Contract Catering Awards and can be submitted online via the official website.
