Compass Chef of the Year comp celebrates 25th anniversary

Celebrating 25 years of its Compass Chef of the Year competition, Compass Group UK and Ireland hosted its prestigious culinary contest in Dublin recently.

Celebrating 25 years of its Compass Chef of the Year competition, Compass Group UK and Ireland hosted its prestigious culinary contest in Dublin recently. The cook-off showcases the company’s best-in-class culinary talent with an opportunity for learning, development and networking.

The winners were announced as Lee Redman from Restaurant Associates as Senior Chef of the Year and Fernando Carmeluti from Compass Ireland as Young Chef of the Year. The prize for both is a culinary trip to a European city, sampling local delicacies and eating in some of its best restaurants.

'A fantastic event'




Redman said: “It was a fantastic event. The competition was tough, but I am really proud to have come away with the title, especially in the 25th year of such a prestigious and established competition. I cooked from the heart and it paid off!”

Carmeluti added: “I have learnt a lot during the prep and competition, and this has been a brilliant opportunity for me. I’d like to thank all my mentors, and I am looking forward to what the future holds as I continue to learn and develop.”
