Chartwells Schools has helped educate pupils on nutrition in partnership with the Leicester Tigers Foundation, through the government’s Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF). The activity saw 40 children attend a session delivering free, interactive, fun nutrition teaching about the importance of making healthy food choices.

The sessions were delivered by a Chartwells Schools nutritionist. Structured around the Eatwell Guide, children learned the importance of eating a balanced diet, as well as engaging in quality time with friends and family.

'Building brighter futures'

Charlotte Macey, nutritionist for Chartwells Schools, said: “By working closely with our local charities and community centres, we’re able to extend our support beyond the school gates and outside of term time – bringing healthy meals, engaging activities and lasting knowledge to the communities we serve, helping to build brighter futures.”

Hannah Faulds, foundation officer for Leicester Tigers, added: “Working with the Chartwells Schools nutrition team was brilliant. They supported us with an educational activity around food and nutrition, with the children able to learn in a fun, interactive way about healthy snacks they can make themselves.”
