SSP RAISES £1M FOR MACMILLAN

SP UK has officially reached the £1m fundraising milestone for Macmillan Cancer Support. The donation will help the leading cancer charity to continue providing a range of physical, emotional and financial support for people living with cancer across the UK.  

The travel catering specialist began its partnership with the charity back in 2018 following a company-wide colleague vote. Since then, teams have committed to raising money through a number of fundraising activities, with additional grants also being provided by the SSP Foundation, a UK-registered charity.

Noel Collett, chief operating officer of SSP UK and Ireland, said: “We want to thank all of our teams who have gone above and beyond to raise money for Macmillan in the past four years to reach this amazing milestone. We believe that together we can make a difference and are extremely proud to have partnered with a charity that provides such critical support.”  

Becky Ettinger, head of corporate partnerships for Macmillan Cancer Support, added: "With significant pressures across the NHS and the cost-of-living crisis causing ongoing worry, there has never been a more important time to support people living with cancer. We are truly grateful to colleagues across SSP for their incredible fundraising efforts which have generated a phenomenal amount.”
