MKN supports community cooking
MKN cooking equipment is proving vital in a new community kitchen in Kings Cross, London. Cook for Good hosts free cookery classes, community meals and a surplus food pantry, as well as cooking-based teambuilding experiences, sharing the profits (and the food) with local residents.
The social enterprise tackles food poverty and social isolation, connecting businesses with local communities for the benefit of both. Founded in 2019, it operates as a community interest company, which means all profits are invested back into community work.
Mark Town, operations manager for MKN UK, said: “I was so impressed by this project and what it does for the community, and am very proud that we can be a very small part of it. We’ve been able to supply MKN’s premium cooking equipment and provide training on the equipment to make sure the community can get the most from it.”
