BaxterStorey welcomes record number of degree apprentices

BaxterStorey has welcomed its largest ever group of degree apprentices. Some 18 students recently begun a three-year programme with the WSH Group, with 15 of them being placed at BaxterStorey.

They will be working towards their level six chartered manager degree apprenticeships. The degree and final assessment will see students based at locations across the country, including at ASOS, BBC Manchester and University of Cumbria.

The programme, in collaboration with Arden University, provides a combination of location-based and interactive online learning, giving unfiltered access to the exciting and dynamic world of hospitality. They will experience the range of career opportunities available, from operations, sales and business development to finance, marketing and supply chain.

Ronan Harte, chief executive officer of BaxterStorey, said: “Creating opportunities through our degree apprentice programme is one way we are addressing the skills gap in our industry. We know that growing talent from the grassroots up often creates the best future leaders.

“I started my career through an apprenticeship – it’s a great way to come into the industry to learn your trade. We’re seeing more interest and sign-ups for apprenticeships and we’re focused on increasing this number.”
