Shine sets net-zero target

Shine Catering Systems has set out an ambitious target to achieve net-zero carbon by 2030. The company says it will do this through a series of initiatives tackling transport, energy and supply chain emissions.

The plan represents the next step in sustainability excellence for the family-owned firm, which designs, manufactures and installs back-of-house and front-of house catering spaces. Even back in 2017 it won a regional award for Green/Sustainable Manufacturer and has continued to focus on carbon reduction to support climate change targets.

Shine’s target is to become carbon neutral through scopes one and two by the year 2027, and work further with its supply chain to become net zero carbon including scope three by 2030.

Julian Shine, managing director of Shine Catering Systems, said: “As a business, we always strive to achieve a more positive environmental impact by investing in new technologies and innovation. We want to help our clients, past and future, achieve their goals of a lower carbon footprint and a more sustainable future within the catering industry.”
