Compass MD hails Contract Catering Awards success

Managing director Robin Mills has expressed his pride at Compass Group UK and Ireland’s achievements at the 2023 Contract Catering Awards, which were held in London on Monday night. The company won six of the 15 available accolades at the glittering awards ceremony and gala dinner.

Raheem Morgan (pictuted), who works for Chartwells at Torridon Primary School in Lewisham, led the way. He claimed the impressive double of Unit Chef of the Year and the Education Award.

ESS claimed three prizes, being named Contract Caterer of the Year, while two of its chefs, Izabela Ginter and Tony Murphy, won the Rising Star and Executive Chef Awards respectively. The group’s impressive tally was completed by Harry Ridley, who picked up the Innovation Award for his ground-breaking work revolutionising the fan experience at Leicester City FC’s King Power Stadium.

Mills told us: “I am so proud that individuals in our business, as well as our teams, have been recognised for the exceptional work that they do, day in and day out, for our clients and customers. It’s such a fantastic achievement to be awarded six Contract Catering Awards.

“The industry is going from strength to strength as we rebuild after the pandemic. It’s heartening to see so much talent and innovation in food and support services – a huge well done to all the winners and all of those shortlisted.”
